The Youngstown Foundation announced over $983K in grants to several Valley organizations, including $200K for improvements to the downtown Youngstown YMCA.

The Youngstown Foundation announced over $983K in grants to several Valley organizations, including $200K for improvements to the downtown Youngstown YMCA.  

Muskingum County Community Foundation and J.W. and M.H. Straker Charitable Foundation named 13 recipients of the 2025 Make Muskingum Home program, where each recipient will receive up to $10K a year for five years to pay off student loan debt.  

Yellow Springs Community Foundation announced a $100K contribution to assist the LIHTC project advancement for low-income housing and new soccer fields in the area.   

Marion Community Foundation and the Ron and Laura Scharer Fund gave a $2K grant to the Marion Police Department for the department’s K9 program.     

Marietta Community Foundation announced that applications are open for over 60 scholarships that will offer approximately $500K in financial aid.  

The Cleveland Foundation invites proposals for the Frank Hadley Ginn & Cornelia Root Ginn Foundation, which aims to address the education and community-based healthcare needs of low-income individuals in Cuyahoga County.  

The Ohio State Bar Association, the Supreme Court of Ohio, the Ohio Attorney General and the American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio Foundation sponsored the Ohio Center for Law-Related Education’s 42nd annual Ohio Mock Trial district competition on Jan. 17.  

The Charles F. Kettering Foundation and Gallup plan to launch a “Democracy for All” project, a new national survey meant to evaluate how Americans perceive and experience democracy.  

The Adams County Community Foundation announced the establishment of the Jan and Andy Davenport Scholarship Fund by their daughter, Sara Pomeroy.  

The Burton E. Stevenson Fund awarded $73K in grants to 10 organizations to support Ross County youth.  

Other Member News

The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, in partnership with the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District, awarded $161K to support projects and individuals committed to advancing conservation and environmental stewardship in the region.  

Nordson Corporation and Nordson Corporation Foundation announced it contributed more than $10M to charitable organizations during its 2024 fiscal year that ended Oct. 31, 2024.
