On behalf of the Philanthropy Ohio Board of Trustees, I am delighted to share exciting news with you. After an extensive national search, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Jack Hershey as our next president & CEO, effective February 24.

Jack is a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of public policy, advocacy and collaboration. With more than 25 years of experience in government affairs and higher education leadership, he is well-positioned to lead our talented team and guide Philanthropy Ohio into its next chapter. Most recently, Jack served as president and CEO of the Ohio Association of Community Colleges (OACC) for more than a decade, where he successfully strengthened partnerships, secured critical funding and championed policies that expanded opportunities for students to succeed.

Prior to his tenure at OACC, Jack served as associate vice president of government affairs at The Ohio State University. He also held leadership positions in state government, including as deputy director of the Ohio Office of Budget and Management and as director of finance and a finance analyst in the Ohio House of Representatives under Speaker Jo Ann Davidson. His extensive experience working with policymakers at both the executive and legislative levels gives him a unique ability to advocate for and advance the mission of Philanthropy Ohio.

As we celebrate Philanthropy Ohio’s 40th anniversary, Jack’s leadership will focus on strengthening member engagement, expanding advocacy efforts and fostering collaborative opportunities that amplify our collective impact. His passion for strategic leadership and commitment to meaningful partnerships will help us continue supporting Ohio’s philanthropic sector in transformative ways.

Please join me in welcoming Jack Hershey to the Philanthropy Ohio community. We are excited about the vision, leadership and expertise he brings to our organization, and we look forward to working together to advance philanthropy across the state.

Warm regards,
