The Raymond John Wean Foundation awarded $270K in grants to two Community Development Financial Institutions to help spring economic growth in the Valley.
 
The Richland County Foundation donated $250K to restore a historic Vasbinder Fountain in Mansfield’s Central Park after a book report by city engineer Blair McClenathan.
 
The J.W. & M.H. Straker Charitable Foundation awarded a $100K grant to the Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center for a new food truck to be operated by students in the Adult Success Program.
 
The Barberton Community Foundation provided grants to renovate the local comic book and games store, Magic City Comics, which boosted business in downtown Barberton.
 
The Awakenings Victim Outreach Program at Area Agency on Aging 3 has been awarded a multi-year grant through the Health Path Foundation of Ohio to support older adults.
 
The Edge of Appalachia – Adams County Fund, a partnership between The Nature Conservancy and the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, awarded $100K in grants and scholarships to benefit the people and communities of Adams County.
 
A recent study by the Urban Institute showed that many Ohio nonprofits backed by government grants would be unable to cover their expenses if they were to lose those funds.

The United Way of the Greater Dayton Area received a $50K grant from the AES Ohio Foundation to support its multiple programs intended to help families throughout the Miami Valley.
 
Fifteen local organizations are receiving grants from the Women’s Giving Circle, an initiative of the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley, to fund important projects that support and serve women and girls in the Valley.
 
Twenty educators were awarded spring semester teacher mini-grants from the Ashland City Schools Foundation and the Ashland County Community Foundation to support programs and projects to enhance student learning.
 
The Ohio History Connection awarded over $189K in Ohio History Fund grants for 2025; one of 12 grants for $20K went to the Trumbull County Historical Society to assist with moving 3,500 artifacts about the Underground Railroad to the Morgan History Center.
 
The Knox County Foundation granted $5K to a curbside compost pilot program by Community Roots in Mount Vernon to allow the organization to purchase supplies.
 
The Community West Foundation board of directors has approved $551K in first-quarter grants to nonprofits serving Cuyahoga and Lorain counties and an additional $151K distributed through the Community Impact Fund.
